Can I reserve a seat?
Seating is unreserved at our venues, meaning it is ‘First-come, First-served’ If you have any questions about the seating arrangements at a particular venue, please call 0131 226 0019 or email boxoffice@imaginate.co.uk.
Imaginate reserves the right to reserve seating for invited guests, press and visitors with access requirements.
What time can I enter the event?
Opening times vary – we encourage audiences to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the performance start time. Please arrive promptly.
Why are latecomers not admitted to some shows?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the show. We understand that getting to a show in time with young children can sometimes be challenging, and for most of our shows, we will endeavour to let late comers in if possible. However, there are some shows when this will not be possible (eg. the venue is small and access to the seats means crossing the stage and disrupting the show).
Latecomers will only be admitted on the discretion of the venue team.
Are there luggage/cloakroom facilities?
There will be no storage facilities for luggage or coats at any of our venues during the festival.
Why are some shows only available during school hours?
We programme shows during the day as well as evenings and weekends so that both schools and families can attend. Offering times that suit schools, means we are able to reach children from all backgrounds including those who, for various reasons, aren’t able to attend with their parents at the weekend.
Why are there adults without children, often wearing badges?
The Festival has an international reputation as one of the best events of its kind in the world. We attract over 300 artists and programmers from around 25 countries who attend to be inspired, spot new talent or book shows for their own venues – they are an important audience for the Festival.
How do I receive my tickets?
Your ticket is a QR Code which will be sent by email and can be printed at home or shown at the venue on your mobile phone. Please note: you will receive one QR Code per transaction – this can be used for all events booked. If you have any issues, please call 0131 226 0019 or email boxoffice@imaginate.co.uk.
In your e-ticket you will find an Apple and Google Wallet link for each performance booked. When viewing your e-ticket on a suitable mobile device, just click the relevant option and it will load the e-ticket to your wallet.
Due to restrictions placed by Apple and Google. This option is not available if you purchase 10 or more tickets for a single performance.
If your ticket is refunded due to a show cancellation it will still appear in your wallet, therefore you will need to delete it yourself.
You can share a QR code using Apple and Google Wallet. This will create a QR code per ticket rather than the QR code per transaction in the e-ticket. Once the tickets are added to your wallet, open the wallet on your mobile device and follow the ‘Share’ options. Please note, you can only share e-tickets to and from the same device type (ie Apple to Apple).
We would recommend using the standard SMS to share the QR code, as the design of the message created by Apple and Google Wallet is clearer using this format.
Once you have shared the ticket, we would recommend deleting the ticket from your own wallet to avoid confusion when getting tickets scanned.
